Jennifer Davis has a support group for spouses of sex-addicts, a website called Inspiring You, and she is training to become a Betrayal Trauma Recovery Coach. In this podcast, Jennifer and I talk about what betrayal trauma is, what steps to take after the initial discovery or disclosure, how to set boundaries, and what recovery might look like. Jennifer is a wealth of information for women recovering from betrayal trauma, and processing how to handle their spouse’s pornography or other sex addiction.

LauraLee Cummings is radio host, a conference organizer, former Behavioral Health Counselor, has healed from substance abuse, and is most recently becoming a domestic violence advocate. We discussed healing from childhood wounds and how those wounds can affect marriage. We also talked about domestic violence and abuse in Torah Observant communities, and what leaders need to know to protect their flocks. We talked about how to find a counselor- Biblical, secular and/or licensed- who is trauma informed and qualified to help in instances of abuse.

Joy shares her testimony of healing from food addiction and past trauma, and the powerful role the man who would become her husband played in that. She also shares how God put the two of them together. We talk about the importance of healing before marriage and within marriage, and how deeply our spiritual walks are tied to our emotional and physical healing.
